Founder Steve Liquorish Interviewed Live

The BBC’s flagship business programme has featured a piece on Aircharge, with founder Steve Liquorish interviewed live on the BBC News channel. The Business Live article opened with a look at the massive growth forecast in the wireless charging industry and looked at the thousands of locations Aircharge has already launched public Qi wireless charging facilities in, including partners McDonald’s, Costa Coffee, Starbucks and many more. Steve introduced the Aircharge technology and described the implementation and impact of publicly accessible wireless charging.

“The idea is to build an ecosystem globally so we can forget the wires and we’ve no need to plug in,” explains Steve, “Aircharge were a very early mover in this market and consequently have become the world’s largest deployer of public charging.”

With the global wireless charging market expected to be worth an estimated $37.2bn by 2022 with annual growth forecast at 44.7% over the next 4 years, Aircharge is perfectly placed to maintain its position as a market leader. By being featured in the Apple iPhone X launch event, Aircharge further established itself as a key provider of wireless charging products, as discussed in the interview.

As Steve explained, “The WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) has seen membership absolutely rocket in the last few months since Apple joined the standard, so huge things are to come.”
