Aircharge continues its expansion with the giant fast-food chain
The Molonglo Valley restaurant in Canberra, alongside Keilor Park, Smith St. Collingwood, Malvern East and Prahran restaurants in Melbourne’s suburban area, are the first 5 ‘Macca’s’ to provide Aircharge wireless charging points in the country.
Aircharge, the world's largest wireless charging brand with over 5,000 locations across 55 territories, has a long-standing partnership with McDonald’s, which started back in 2015 in the UK. Australia marks the 16th countries Aircharge has a presence in with McDonald’s.
Aircharge is part of McDonald’s Experience of the Future restaurant upgrade, transforming and modernising restaurants around the world with investments in technological and digital advancements in order to enhance the restaurant experience and improve efficiency, and ultimately generate more frequent visits and higher spend per customer. The program includes the addition of touch-screen and mobile ordering, table service, home delivery and Qi-Certified wireless charging, in line with McDonald’s goal to deliver a seamless and more personable and enjoyable customer experience.
In Australia Aircharge installed its latest Gorilla Glass surface wireless chargers on communal tables and counters, providing complimentary charging facilities to all customers dining at the selected restaurants. Integrated QR code technology also allows users to easily connect to Wi-Fi and access offers and promotions, menu, table service and mobile ordering. Aircharge’s unique Airbridge adaptors including Type-C, Apple Lightning and Micro-USB connectors, are also available at the sites to charge non-Qi devices.
There are over 970 McDonald's restaurants across Australia, with plans for Aircharge technology to expand further following this first phase deployment.
