Feb 16, 2017

Aircharge hosts event in the most-wirelessly charged city in the world where Londoners are already taking full advantage of Qi wireless charging at coffee shops, top UK restaurant chains, travel lounges, wireless retail stores and other high-traffic venues

Aircharge, global leader in wireless charging solutions for public venues, office and home, today opens the doors to the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Conference and Exhibition in London.

The event brings together area innovators and top brands to discuss and learn about the latest innovations, products, components, services and market insights in the high growth wireless power industry.

The WPC is a not-for-profit organization comprising 213 technology companies -- Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, IKEA, Philips, Bosch and many others developing and promoting Qi standard for wireless charging of smartphones and other consumer electronic devices. Today, there are more than certified and tested 80 models of smartphones, 60 models of cars, 5,000 public locations and 900+ wireless charging accessories (for iPhone and Android) now available.

Event showcasing latest commercial products and advanced technology demonstrations

The Aircharge-hosted event will give local innovators the opportunity to learn about the mass market adoption of Qi wireless charging and experience firsthand how Qi is powering the consumer journey at home, in the car, at the office and while on the go – at restaurants, coffee shops, hotels and travel lounges.

The exhibition will include home furniture solutions from IKEA, in-car demo solutions from manufacturer Leggett & Platt, office solutions from UK specialist designer Sixteen3 and restaurant installation examples from McDonald’s, all with integrated Qi wireless charging. Bosch, NXP and Rohm Semiconductor will demonstrate their latest wireless charging innovations aimed at charging higher power devices like power tools and notebooks wirelessly.
