Skoda Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq owners can opt for adding wireless charging functionality to the normal phonebox. This wireless charging solution uses a planar array, communicating with your smartphone via near-field coupling and transmitting signals to the car's antenna. The system combines good voice quality and high connection security with convenient operation, ensuring your mobile device remains fully operational during charging. Wireless charging will also be offered as standard on the Karoq Edition when it is released in the fourth quarter of 2017.

To utilise the wireless charging functionality simply place your device face up in the phonebox. The mobile device will automatically connect and start receiving power. Before using the wireless charger always make sure the charging pad is clear of other objects especially metallic items.

iPHONE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR SKODA - COMPATIBILITY

Skoda’s wireless charging solution is compatible with the universal Qi standard. All Qi-enabled smartphones including the iPhone 8 and iPhone X can be charged directly from the charging mat, however larger phablet size devices like the iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung S8 Plus won’t fit.

Apple iPhone models prior to the iPhone 8 will need a wireless charging accessory like the Aircharge ‘Made for iPhone’ Wireless Charging Case to enable the device to work with Qi chargers.
