Upgraded models offer wireless charging up to 7.5W
Following months of speculation, Xiaomi has confirmed the upgrade to last year’s Mi Mix 2 will offer wireless charging for the first time in one of their handsets. The Mi Mix 2S benefits from the inclusion of Qi wireless charging built in, together with an upgraded chipset and larger, near bezel-free screen. The news that Xiaomi has embraced wireless charging should come as no surprise since they joined the Wireless Power Consortium in September 2017, however reports suggested that they would wait to include the technology in a handset until the release of their new flagship, the Mi7, which is expected to launch in June 2018. They have now revealed that the base model of the Mi Mix 2S will offer Qi standard wireless charging at 5W, while the top model, featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, will allow fast charging up to 7.5W. Both models of the Mi Mix 2S are fully compatible with the Aircharge range of wireless chargers, such as our black and chrome Executive charger, available on our eshop.
