GMC In-Car Wireless Charging

GMC offers wireless charging in the form of a charging mat integrated within the centre console lid. The GMC’s Wireless Charging feature is currently available as an option on the following 2018 models. For iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus model compatibility in 2017 range and earlier models please visit Apple Support here. For iPhone models prior to the iPhone 8, GMC recommends Aircharge MFi cases.

HOW TO USE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR GMC

Utilizing the Wireless Charging feature in a GMC is simple. Start with removing all objects, especially metal or magnetic objects, from the charging pad, then place your mobile device face up on the charging symbol molded into it. You might have to move the phone slightly until the charging icon will display on the IntelliLink display screen, indicating the device is properly positioned and charging. If a phone is placed on the charging pad and the charging icon does not display, remove it from the pad and wait three seconds before placing/aligning the phone on the pad again.

 

iPHONE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR GMC - COMPATIBILITY

The charger is compatible with the universal Qi standard. All Qi-enabled smartphones including the iPhone 8 and iPhone X can be charged directly from the charging mat, except for larger phablet size devices like the iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung S8 Plus which won’t fit. Apple iPhone models prior to the iPhone 8 will need a wireless charging accessory, and GMC recommends the Aircharge range of ‘Made for iPhone’ Wireless Charging Cases to enable these devices to work with Qi chargers.
