Volkswagen In-Car Wireless Charging

Volkswagen’s wireless charging tray allows users to charge a compatible Qi-enabled smartphone without the use of an additional cable. This feature is currently offered as an option on Golf, Tiguan, T-Roc and new Polo models. The 2019 Touareg offers Qi wireless charging as an option on the SEL model and as standard on the R-Line and R-Line Tech models.

HOW TO USE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR VOLKSWAGEN

To use the wireless charging pad feature, place your mobile device face up directly on it. Make sure the phone is positioned correctly in order to charge. Always remove all objects, especially any metal items, from the pad before initiating charging.

iPHONE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR VOLKSWAGEN - COMPATIBILITY

The Volkswagen’s wireless charger is compatible with the universal Qi standard. All Qi-enabled smartphones including the iPhone 8 and iPhone X can be charged directly from the charging mat, however larger phablet size devices like the iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung S8 Plus may not fit.

Apple iPhone models prior to the iPhone 8 will need a wireless charging accessory like the Aircharge ‘Made for iPhone’ Wireless Charging Case to enable the device to work with Qi chargers.
