Hyundai Launches New Generation i30 with in-car Wireless Charging

Mar 10, 2017

The South Korean vehicle manufacturer offers in-car phone wireless charging in new i30 range. Learn how it works and how to charge your iPhone

South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai has introduced wireless charging in their new i30 range. For drivers who want to connect their smartphones with the eight-inch navigation system, the New Generation i30 provides both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Both systems enable users to connect their devices to deliver and control music, telephone or navigation functions on-screen.

Seamless connectivity allows drivers and passengers to stay connected while remaining focused on the road. To ensure that occupants’ phones are always charged, the New Generation i30 also offers a Qi standard wireless charging pad located in the closed centre console.

This feature is provided as standard equipment on models from the SE Nav upwards and all Qi-enabled phones like the latest Samsung models can charge directly by simply placing the device on the pad face up. The Hyundai wireless charging pad is fully compatible with the Aircharge range of Made For iPhone cases for the 5/5S/SE, 6/6S and 6 Plus/6S Plus, to enable iPhone models to benefit from wireless charging.
