Apple has announced the second generation of its entry-level smartphone, the iPhone SE with wireless charging integrated.
After months of rumours, Apple has revealed a new entry-level smartphone, the iPhone SE which has integrated Qi wireless charging. It is the cheapest iPhone to date to incorporate Qi wireless charging, with prices starting at £419. Replacing its predecessor, originally released in 2016, it has been described in the media as “an iPhone 11 stuffed into the revamped body of an iPhone 8”.
Apple first introduced Qi wireless charging in its smartphone range when it launched the 10th-anniversary model iPhone X, alongside the iPhone X Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Ever since, Apple has incorporated Qi wireless charging in every iPhone model released. As Apple has also incorporated Qi wireless charging in its generation 2 version of Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro.
