Toyota currently offers in-car phone wireless charging as an option on 7 models. The solutions consists of a wireless charging tray located on the central console.

HOW TO USE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR TOYOTA

The Qi wireless charging tray is located in the centre console. To use the wireless charging functionality, simply place your phone in the charging tray ensuring there is nothing between your smartphone and the tray, especially metallic objects. After your phone is set in the tray, push the on/off wireless charger button to begin charging your phone. When charging commences, the amber light will illuminate indicating your phone is charging. The indicator light will turn green when charging is complete.

 

iPHONE WIRELESS CHARGING IN YOUR TOYOTA - COMPATIBILITY

Toyota’s charging solution is compatible with the universal Qi standard. All Qi-enabled smartphones including in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X can be charged directly from the charger, however larger phablet size devices like the iPhone7 Plus, Samsung S8 Plus may not fit in the charging tray, depending on the model.

Apple iPhone models prior to the iPhone 8 will need a wireless charging accessory like the Aircharge ‘Made for iPhone’ Wireless Charging Case to enable the device to work with Qi chargers.
